Parklife Festival brings together some of the biggest names in dance, pop and electronic music each year.
From global chart stars to underground favourites, Sunday’s line up offers something for every music fan.
As thousands head to Heaton Park for the final day of Parklife, some names on the bill will be instantly recognisable while others may be new discoveries waiting to happen.
Calvin Harris is arguably the most familiar name on the Sunday line up. The Scottish DJ and producer has spent more than a decade dominating charts around the world with hits including Summer, One Kiss, Feel So Close and Miracle. His closing set at The Valley is expected to be one of the festival’s biggest attractions.
Swedish singer Zara Larsson has built a strong international following through songs such as Lush Life, Symphony and Never Forget You. Her appearance gives the festival one of its biggest pop moments of the weekend.
Rudimental have become festival favourites thanks to a catalogue of drum and bass influenced hits. The group have worked with artists including Becky Hill, John Newman and Ella Eyre and continue to attract large crowds across the UK.
House music fans will likely recognise Armand Van Helden, whose career spans more than three decades. Tracks including You Don’t Know Me and Bonkers helped cement his place as one of dance music’s most influential figures.
Elsewhere, Chris Stussy, Ewan McVicar and KETTAMA represent a new generation of electronic artists whose popularity has grown rapidly through club performances and festival appearances across Europe.
The harder dance sounds featured on the Matinee stage have also developed a loyal following. Acts such as blk. and AZYR have become regular names on major festival line ups as interest in hard techno continues to grow.
The G Stage showcases a mix of bass music, garage and drum and bass talent. SHY FX remains one of the genre’s most respected figures, while BAKEY and Bushbaby have built reputations through the UK underground scene.
For many festival goers, Parklife is not just about seeing favourite artists. It is also an opportunity to discover performers they may never have listened to before. With dozens of acts appearing across multiple stages, the challenge may be keeping track of how many names you actually know.
