A stage reimagining of the iconic 90s film Single White Female will thrill audiences at Manchester Opera House in February 2026
The stage is set for suspense and obsession as the world premiere of Single White Female hits the Manchester Opera House next February. The psychological thriller, adapted for the stage by author and broadcaster Rebecca Reid, will star Rochdale-born actor and singer Kym Marsh in a leading role.
The tour begins in January 2026 and will visit theatres across the UK and Ireland until June. Manchester audiences can catch the show from Tuesday 10 to Saturday 14 February 2026.
Best known for her roles in Coronation Street and Waterloo Road, Marsh will play Allie, a newly divorced mum balancing her start-up ambitions with single parenthood. Allie’s decision to take in a lodger sets the stage for a chilling spiral into manipulation and obsession when seemingly perfect Hedy enters her life.
Described as a “bold and modern reimagining” of the 1992 Columbia Pictures hit, the play updates the story to reflect the perils of social media and modern isolation. Audiences can expect dark humour, sharp storytelling, and spine-tingling twists.
Kym Marsh said: “I remember being totally gripped by the movie when I first saw it in the cinema and could never have imagined back then that I’d be starring in the world premiere of its life on stage. Get ready to be thrilled, shocked and entertained, and watch out for those stiletto heels!”
Directed by Gordon Greenberg, whose stage credits include Guys & Dolls (West End) and Heart of Rock and Roll, Broadway, the production is being brought to life by JAS Theatricals, ATG Productions and Gavin Kalin Productions.
