Pop star Jade Thirlwall drew huge crowds in Bury on Saturday, 13 September, when she stopped by Wax and Beans record shop to sign copies of her debut solo album.
The South Shields-born singer, 32, rose to fame 14 years ago as part of girl group Little Mix after their X Factor victory. The band went on hiatus in 2022, and Thirlwall has since launched her solo career with her first album, That’s Showbiz Baby!, released on Friday, 12 September.
Fans queued outside Wax and Beans on Market Street from early morning to meet the star, with tickets for the event selling out in under five minutes.

The appearance formed part of her nationwide “Jade Parade” album promotion, with other stops planned in Liverpool, London and Birmingham.
The independent record store, run by Ben and Louise, has become a cultural hub in Bury, selling vinyl records, merchandise, coffee and food.
One fan, Oliver, travelled more than two hours from near Manchester Airport for the chance to meet Jade. He said: “I think the album is really good. It’s a lot better than some previous Little Mix songs.”

When asked which track would shine live, he tipped FUFN, the album’s third single, saying it would “go off” in concert.
Thirlwall is due to return to Manchester next month, 12 October, for a sold-out headline show at the O2 Victoria Warehouse, upgraded from Academy 1 due to high demand. Earlier this year, she won a Brit Award for British Pop Act 2025.
