How big is the risk of another fuel spike?
Business and economics reporter James Sillars writes...
"You could say Europe is facing a perfect storm.
"There's the disruption caused to deliveries from the Middle East due to the on-and-off hostilities between the US and Iran.
"At the same time, attacks by Ukraine on Russian energy infrastructure - both at sea and on land - have prompted Moscow to ban diesel exports this week.
"Russia, typically Europe's largest oil producer, is suffering fuel shortages across its vast land mass and rationing has failed to prevent huge queues.
"It now plans to import diesel to help offset some of the losses, but that will only drive up competition for supplies across the rest of the continent in the weeks and months to come.
"That signals upwards pressure on prices, given that the UK imports more than half of its diesel needs."
