How to pay tribute to Her Majesty this weekend

Members of the public will be able to pay tribute to the Queen Elizabeth II up to and including the day of Her Majesty’s funeral.

We want to make sure that those who want to pay tribute have the chance to do so.

Books of Condolence will be open on the following days:

    Saturday 17 September

    • Radcliffe Library (9.30am to 1 pm)
    • Ramsbottom Library (9.30am to 1 pm)
    • Tottington Library (10am to 1pm)

    Sunday 18 September

    • Bury Town Hall (access from Knowsley Street entrance: 12-4pm)
    • Prestwich Library (9.30am to 1pm)

    Monday 19 September

    • Bury Town Hall (access from Knowsley Street entrance: 12-4pm)

An online book of condolence is available at https://www.royal.uk/

Following Her Majesty’s funeral, the Books of Condolence will close and be sent to our archives.

Members of the public can lay tributes to Her Majesty at Kay Gardens until the evening of the funeral.

We have been doing all we can to keep the area in fitting condition and maintain floral and other tributes.

However, it has always been recognised that by their very nature there will naturally come a point when they need to be respectfully relocated.

We will sensitively move these from Tuesday 20 September with anything appropriate moved to our archives.
