A special commemoration service marking the death of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

As we mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II there is a chance for Bury residents to come together at a multi-faith civic memorial service.

The service will be held at Bury Parish Church this Sunday (18 September) at 6.30pm and will be followed by a national one-minute silence at 8pm.

During this National Moment of Reflection, the service will remember and celebrate the Queen’s life and commemorate her passing on 8 September 2022.

The service will be led by the Revd Julian Heaton, the Rector of Bury, and everyone is welcome to come along and show their respects.

Please be aware that places will be limited. The service will also be live streamed at https://councilstream.com/burycouncil/2535 for anyone to watch.

This is an extremely sad moment in history and on behalf of Bury we have offered our condolences by way of a public statement from the Mayor, which can be read in full on the council’s website along with other local information.
