Fire service on scene at commercial premises in Bury

    Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue service are currently attending an incident on Every Street in Bury.

    GMFRS were called to the scene at around 12:20pm this afternoon (Sunday), the fire involves a large quantity of paper and cardboard in a warehouse. 

    A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 12:20pm this afternoon (Sunday 19 June) we received a report of a fire at a commercial premises on Every Street, Bury, involving a large quantity of paper and cardboard in a warehouse.

    “Four fire engines were quickly mobilised and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are currently tackling the fire in sectors using a hose reel and jets.

    “Crews remain in attendance at this time. The fire has generated a sizeable plume of smoke and we ask that residents in the area keep windows and doors closed while firefighters are working at the scene.”
