Volunteering with Roch Valley Radio provides you with an opportunity to learn professional-level skills in all areas of audio and media production. You can learn to make documentaries and features, mix live music, produce and present programmes and much more. Learning these things as a volunteer helps to develop the best skill of all – a sense of inner motivation and discipline and confidence in a working environment.
As well as constantly striving to both improve our output and increase our involvement in the hospital and local community, we are interested in extending our local news service, and as part of this, we are also recruiting for reporters that can attend events, write short articles and take photos. We want to promote the fantastic work that goes on in the local community, promote health and welbeing news from our local Care Organisation and be your one-stop-shop for entertainment. These are just as vital as presenting radio shows. If you’re interested, please get in touch.
We’re looking for people who:
- Are enthusiastic
- Are knowledgeable about what they want to do
- Are able to communicate clearly with others
- Can motivate themselves
- Can promote what they do on the internet and elsewhere
- You must be aged 16 years or over
- You will be required to complete a DBS
- You would ideally be able to commit to around two hours or more a week of voluntary work
As Roch Valley Radio is an entirely volunteer-run community-based charity focused on serving the needs of our audience, we are regrettably unable to offer work experience placements. However, if you can commit to a part-time volunteering role alongside your studies, please get in touch.
